OUR BELIEFS

1. Every child can and should learn to his or her fullest potential.

2. Learning is a life-long process.

3. A child’s education is the joint responsibility of the school, the family, and members of the community.

4. Every child should be provided with a safe, clean, comfortable, and nurturing environment in which to learn.

5. A positive self-concept is essential to learning.

6. The best interests of the child should come first when educational decisions are made.

7. Teachers should be good role models for children, both academically and socially.

8. Good school attendance is conducive to learning.

9. On-going evaluation and assessment results provide vital resources for school improvement.

OUR MISSION

The faculty and staff of West Hardin Elementary School, in collaboration with students, parents, and community leaders, will provide an educational program that meets the state standards and benchmarks and that will accomplish these objectives:

1. Elevate each student’s level of academic performance using a variety of teaching methods.

2. Provide necessary services and programs that will meet each student’s emotional and physical needs at each grade level.

3. Prepare each student to continue to experience academic, emotional, and physical success when they advance to sixth grade.
